The Largest, Sharpest view of Andromeda Ever
This week, NASA and the ESA released this image taken by the Hubble telescope of our galactic neighbor, the Andromeda galaxy. At only 2.5 million light-years away, the entire system sprawls across out night sky. This image is created from from 411 individual images and the full resolution image captures hundreds of millions of individual star systems.
This low resolution image doesn’t do the real thing justice so click it to see a high resolution JPG. The complete FULL resolution image contains over 1.5 billion pixels and clocks in at a hefty 4.5 Gb. That’s way too huge for most people to download but some super awesome person on YouTube created this video where you can explore the image a little closer.
